An OCD play based on a true story -

             OCD; A Family Affair

Scene - A sunny day at the gas station
Characters  OCD - played by me
                Frazzled - A family member

Act I (My charge for gas is $3.50. I carefully count four one-dollar bills to pay for the gas. I count it a few more times. I thank the gas station attendant and give him four one-dollar bills, and I tell him to keep the change. Then I immediately ask Frazzled a question.)

OCD: Did I give the attendant four one-dollar bills?

Frazzled: Yes, you know you did.

OCD: But did you actually see it?

Frazzled: YES!

Act II (We have driven a few blocks.)

OCD: Are you sure I gave the attendant four dollars? I just want to make sure.

Frazzled: YES! I wish I wouldn't have come...take me home.

OCD: I'm sorry-I'll stop.

Frazzled: Okay.

OCD: I'm really sorry, okay?

OCD: Okay, but I am sorry. (Clouds, Silence)

OCD: Did you like the first two acts of my play?

Frazzled: Yes, but you don't do "that" anymore.

Lord Jesus Christ -I ask that through this web page, You will help people with OCD and their families who suffer immensely. We need Your strength, power, and love to overcome the OCD tragedy. Open our minds to truth, so that we can be set free from the bondage of OCD. You are the way, and the truth, and the life. Amen.

To be sure of going to heaven you need to understand five truths from the Bible:

1) We are all sinners. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

2) Our sins condemn us to eternal death. For the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

3) No one can earn eternal life by good deeds. By the works of the law no flesh will be justified  in His sight (Romans 3:20).

4) God loves you and sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place. But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

5) You can have eternal life by believing in Jesus. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16).

I urge you to express your faith to God in the following prayer:

Dear God, I know I am a sinner worthy of eternal death. I realize I cannot be saved from my sins by doing good works. I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose again. Right now I put my trust in Jesus alone to forgive me and to take me to heaven when I die. Thank you for this free gift of eternal life. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Take me to the cross.
